Breakfast at Belmont Race Track

Mom told me about having breakfast at the race track so being the horse lover Isabel is, last minute we decided to go this morning. It was really nice, you sat inside eating breakfast while watching the jockeys warm up the horses, it was fun to watch. Not a 5 star place to eat but very cute and worth it.

After eating I think it was about 8:30 we went outside to an area to meet BEANIE. They call her a "pony" but I found out that any horse on the track not racing is called a pony. Beanies owner came out to talk to use about all the different gear the jockeys wear, saddles etc. and all about the horses. This is also where we found out today was the last day until April for breakfast and tours!!

I think mom was more excited to pet Beanie then Isabel...lol

After that we went on a tram ride throughout all of Belmont Stables. It was HUGE I was very impressed at the "behind the scenes" They gaves us alot of information that was actually very interesting.

Last we got a lesson on how the starting gates work, and how sometimes a horse gets disqaulified and has to go back to lesson 1... Then the kids got to go into them and when he hit the buttom, bell rang and doors popped open it was priceless to see her face!

It was a great morning I totally recommend it to everyone we were out of there by 9:30 plenty of time for dancing school!

Revlon's Breast Cancer Walk

RISE AND SHINE!! Another year up at the crack of dawn. Dad drove us into the city. It turned out to be a beautiful day but thankfully not as HOT as it was last year. Mom stayed back at the Survivors Tent this year with Isabel and Edie, Pauline and I walked. BOY keeping up with that woman is a challenge Good for her because I am half her age and she was waiting for me...haha
Really was an enjoyable day. Isabel had a great time, she is totally starting to get the concept of raising money for causes and help people out which is really important for me, especially for this, for her MIMI, NANA and millions of other people out there.

They passed out these capes, how cute does she look walking around the city??

WE ACTUALLY DID IT, she learned to ride a 2-wheeler

Isabel can be awesome in the fact when she wants to do something she can learn anything BUT she is not very "athletic" I guess might be the word. She didn't learn to CRAWL until 9 months old, STAND on her own till 10 months old, didn't walk until 15 months old (and we are still working on that one) Jumping in place might come easy for most but not Isabel took her a long time to get that one too. That is why we love swimming I think it is the perfect sport for her.
Saying all that she has a friend Sera who is VERY athletic and at 4 she learned to ride a 2 wheeler. Isabel at this point was on her bike with training wheels, ummmm lets see maybe about 4 times... but now she wanted to learn. I really did try, but after tears and whining I was not a good teacher. We tried the no pedals on the bike but we needed an incline which I don't have unless you count the driveway that leads to a MAJOR busy street. Adene worked with her in the driveway alot and she was starting to get it a little but not happening totally.
So now it was labor day, Adene invited us over for a BBQ and said bring her bike, Craig (Adene's cousin) will be there, who taught Sera. She lives on a dead end street and LOTS of driveways and hills. Craig was awesome, worked with her for 2 hours but she was not having the pedals back on she was balancing great but no pedals. We took a break, ate and honestly I was just calling it a day. She is only 4 didnt NEED to be on a 2Wheeler and it was the end of the summer when sill she be riding anyway?

I put her on the bike with the pedals told her she had to pedal for me at least once I would hold her and when I did let go Sera yelled see you are doing it and that was it she was loving it after that.

I totally appreciate all the work that was put into helping her from EVERYONE. Teaching Isabel things is a tough job she has a lot of self doubt and the "I can'ts" and tears. I do push her when I truly know it is something she CAN do. EXAMPLE I never pushed her to play TEE BALL....lol
So proud of her and she is very proud of herself which is so important!!

Time to Paint

What a project, man when I want something done, it will get done. I decided to pain the living room and it needed a new carpet in the worst way. Each night I would move the furniture out and paint another wall. Sera, Hailie, Adene and Isabel all wanted to help finish it up. They were too cute, very helpful!

Big White space is where I painted around the wall unit the first time a million years ago, this time I thought I should move it out.
