MEMORIAL DAY

In the morning we went to the Memorial Day Parade in the town of Floral Park with some friends. The kids looked so cute all decked out in the festive clothes. Parade was fun very cute to see.

After the parade we headed over to the beach. It was SO windy. People were building forts to stop the sand from blowing. The kids didnt seem to mind. I was happy it was the first time Isabel was not afraid of the water she was having a great time. We didn't stay long it was just way to windy.

They are here....

They hatched on the 17th and then 2 days later we released them and 4 of them flew away. There is one butterfly with a crushed wing and he seems to be here to stay for a while. We tried several times for release him.

He is living with us right now getting fed fruit everyday. Not sure how long he will last indoors but we will see.

Happy Mothers Day

Aunt Jeannette, Emily, Mimi, Isabel and I went to the American Girl Doll store to eat at the restaurant in the city. The girls had a great time with their babies and the food is actually pretty good too. They each got to go in the store after to pick something out. Isabel wanted a baby bath for her doll so that is what we lugged home.

Afterwards we walked around for pictures. How cute do the girls look walking in the city with their shopping bags. When we took the train home Isabel noticed people sleeping on the train so she was imitating them.

Curls

Isabel wanted curly hair like Emily and Carly so I put rollers in her hair after the bath. She thought it was so funny she couldn't stop looking at herself in the mirror. She was a little impatient to wait till the morning to take them out so we didn't get the full effect of curly hair BUT how cute are the pictures.

Next step Cocoons...

They are now in there little silky shells and I have to place them in the netting before they hatch.

Look how much they have grown...

Isabel (and I) are amazed how they are growing. They spin a little silk that allows them to move around easy and it protects them, its pretty cool. In a few days I guess they should curl up and harden and hang from the top.

Growing our own BUTTERFLIES

Grandma Janet gave Isabel a butterfly kit for Christmas. We didnt order the butterflys because it was to cold to release them after they grew. Finally the nice weather came, and so did our larvae in the mail. They spend 7-10 days in this container eating and growing.
