YAY Beach Day

We woke up this morning and was suppose to be getting dressed for Garden Class BUT after talking to Mimi on the phone decided today would be a good beach day. Especially when you get to pull up with the car and Tio will park it and really do not have to pack to much else. It was fun to have her at the beach we do not go to often, she is not a big fan of the ocean.

Mimi & Tio took Isabel for a walk to get Seashells but she made sure she stayed far away from the water. She wanted to take them home to paint. It was a great day for shells, we found so many.

Not sure how much fun Mimi was having playing in the sand instead of relaxing to a book.

Playing in the sprinkler

Very big on helping me water the grass.... we are getting bit by bugs left and right for the time were are out there it is horrible. This day was worth getting eaten. Isabel was having such a great time playing, we paid for it later with the amount of bug bites we got!!

4th of July!!

I should have guessed something was not right when Isabel woke up crying over anything and everything but off we went to Michelle's for a 4th day BBQ.
When she asked if she can close her eyes on the car ride over I thought that was unusual.

We got to the house and the kids were playing and having a great time
How cute do they look?

Playing in the new pool ... everything looks good right?

Don't you just love the hair?

Well very soon the clingyness and whining began, she began shaking, took her temp and what do you know... 104.7 SO CRAZY totally out of the blue. Guess something was brewing. Took some Motrin, quick shower and home we went.

Fever went down by the middle of the night and nothing since, what a fluke but I guess I can't complain if that was the worst of it.

Recital Time

It was Isabel's very first dance recital. We woke up early and started our morning with a special breakfast at the diner with Mimi and Nana Pauline. So excited we came back to the house to get ready. Biggest excitement was that Melissa was coming with us and sitting in "our" car. After Melissa came we were all forgotten about.

She loved being on stage. The video is a horrible version to watch but it was from her dress rehearsal and then I had to play it on the TV and record the TV with my digital camera in order to get in on the computer.
The girls had a great time and we all enjoyed watching them. So cute even though the real recital day was like a circus up there the girls were more so funny to watch everyone was laughing and cheering for them. When I get the video of the actual day I will try to upload it and see if I can show that.

After the show when I went in the back to get her she saw me ran over to me and said "mommy did you see I was shaking it a lot" so funny the night before she kept telling me she can't twist good ( her tap dance was "twist & shout" ) she was so proud of herself she was shaking her heiney so much.

MEMORIAL DAY

In the morning we went to the Memorial Day Parade in the town of Floral Park with some friends. The kids looked so cute all decked out in the festive clothes. Parade was fun very cute to see.

After the parade we headed over to the beach. It was SO windy. People were building forts to stop the sand from blowing. The kids didnt seem to mind. I was happy it was the first time Isabel was not afraid of the water she was having a great time. We didn't stay long it was just way to windy.

They are here....

They hatched on the 17th and then 2 days later we released them and 4 of them flew away. There is one butterfly with a crushed wing and he seems to be here to stay for a while. We tried several times for release him.

He is living with us right now getting fed fruit everyday. Not sure how long he will last indoors but we will see.

Happy Mothers Day

Aunt Jeannette, Emily, Mimi, Isabel and I went to the American Girl Doll store to eat at the restaurant in the city. The girls had a great time with their babies and the food is actually pretty good too. They each got to go in the store after to pick something out. Isabel wanted a baby bath for her doll so that is what we lugged home.

Afterwards we walked around for pictures. How cute do the girls look walking in the city with their shopping bags. When we took the train home Isabel noticed people sleeping on the train so she was imitating them.

Curls

Isabel wanted curly hair like Emily and Carly so I put rollers in her hair after the bath. She thought it was so funny she couldn't stop looking at herself in the mirror. She was a little impatient to wait till the morning to take them out so we didn't get the full effect of curly hair BUT how cute are the pictures.

Next step Cocoons...

They are now in there little silky shells and I have to place them in the netting before they hatch.

Look how much they have grown...

Isabel (and I) are amazed how they are growing. They spin a little silk that allows them to move around easy and it protects them, its pretty cool. In a few days I guess they should curl up and harden and hang from the top.

Growing our own BUTTERFLIES

Grandma Janet gave Isabel a butterfly kit for Christmas. We didnt order the butterflys because it was to cold to release them after they grew. Finally the nice weather came, and so did our larvae in the mail. They spend 7-10 days in this container eating and growing.

First Dancing school costume photos

I took her today for pictures at Picture People so I can get my FREE 8x10 and nothing else and not have to spend the money they want for pictures at the dancing school studio. WEEELLLLL that didn't go as planned. I couldn't resist the pictures came out so cute, she was so cooperative everyone was loving her. I got a few more then planned but it was worth it.

This is the one I got framed and is in my living room. It is a picture of the picture but that was the only way to show you.

I think we got it

I took Isabel to the Floral Park school yard to practice riding her bike. SO MANY TEARS we went through that she could not pedal I was not sure we were going to make it through this milestone. She gets herself so frustrated, the tears come and its very stressful but the school yard was perfect.

The next day we went back with Sera who is a PRO so that helped because she was following her. They were so cute riding together.
